ACCORTI | ACCORTO

Accorti, very rare, would seem to be from northern Italy, probably from Pavia, Accorto, still much rarer, would seem to be from central Italy, perhaps from Perugia, should derive from the medieval name Acortus of which we have an example in the Chronicle of Salimbene de Adam: ". .Item, his diebus et millesimo supraposito, scilicet anno Domini MCCLXXXVII, .. ..Et quattuor fuerunt qui interfecerunt eum, scilicet Raimundellus, Iacobellus, Acortus et Ferarellus .. ".
