Acquati is specific to the Lombardy area which includes the Milanese and Lecco areas, Milan, Inzago, Brugherio, Monza, Cinisello Balsamo, Cormano, Vimercate, Lesmo and Novate Milanese in the Milanese area and Verderio Superiore and Inferiore in the Lecco area, it should derive from the name of the town of Acquate, now a fraction of Lecco.
