ALTADONNA

Altadonna is typical of northern Sicily, of Messina and Santa Teresa di Riva in the Messina area and of Carini in the Palermo area, but it also has a stock in Lazio, it should derive from the medieval name Altadonna or even from a nickname attributed to the progenitor, probably due to its high stature, traces of this surname we find in Viterbo in a deed of sale of 1256, an act in which the transferor is a certain Rainero Altadonna.
