Anfuso and a typically Sicilian cognome of catanese, messinese ed ennese, if you would like to deal with a medieval dialectal form Anfusus derived from the name Anfossus, the archaic form of Alfonso (see ANFOSSI), of this change we have received a short written example in Palermo in 1201 : "Fredericus dei gratia regi Sicilie, ducatus Apulie et principatus Capue. By this presumption scriptum notum facimus universis nostris fidelibus presentem paginam inspecturis, quod nos solita gratia et liberalitat nostra, attende quoque puram fidem et grata servitia, that Anfusus de Roto comere Tropee , fidelis noster, ...
