Bugatti has an important nucleus in Lumezzane in the Brescia area, one in the Milanese and one in the Ancona area, Bugatto, extremely rare, is of the Genoese. We find traces of these surnames in the Brescia area since the 12th century, in a deed of the second half of the 1100s Heredes Petri Bugatti are mentioned, in 1200 in the western end of Provence, on the border with Italy we find in an act: " ... ", in 1400 in Milan the portrait painter Zanetto Bugatto is employed by Francesco Sforza and decorates among other things the chapel of the relics in the Castle of Pavia.
