CARUBINI | CARUBINO

Carubini is specific to Perugia, Gubbio and Umbertide, Carubino would seem unique, they should derive from the medieval name Carubino, an archaic form of the more common Cherubinus (see CHERUBINI), in Perugia, in the first half of the 1400s, we find the mercenary Captain Carubino of Ermanni or della Staffa (1398? - 1445) Lord of Città della Pieve and brother-in-law of Braccio di Montone.
