Cospolici, very rare, is specific to Palermo, Cuspilici and Cuspolici, almost unique, are both Sicilian. additions provided by Stefano Ferrazzi should derive from the Slavic surname Kuspili? or Kuspilic, a surname that should come from the Dalmatian island of Korcula (Kor? ula in Croatian), famous, for example, for the battle of Korcula in which Marco Polo was taken prisoner by the Genoese.
