CAIRATI

Cairati is typical of Milan, Milan, Settimo Milanese, Abbiategrasso, Rebecco sul Naviglio and Cusago, it should derive from the toponym of Cairate in the Varese area, probable place of origin of the founders, toponym which in turn should derive from the term preinsubric cairu (stone ), perhaps to indicate the country as a place from which building stones were extracted.
