Bonaventura seems to have three autonomous stocks, between the provinces of Venice and Treviso, in those of Viterbo, Rome and L'Aquila and in Sicily in the Catania area, Bonaventuri, practically unique, would seem Tuscan, Di Bonaventura is specific to Teramo, Roseto degli Abruzzi and of Teramo, derive from the well-auspicious name Bonaventura, of which we have an example in the Diplomatic Code of medieval Lombardy in an act of 1184 written in Brescia "... Ego Bonaventura notarius interfui et rogatus hoc brief scripsi ..." and also in a writing of 1261 in Florence: "... Tunc florebat in order fratrum minorum frater Bonaventura, birthplace Tuscus et magister in theologia, ..." Traces of this surname can be found for example in the State archives of Modena where in the repertoire of the Notaries of the 1200 we find a notary Albertino Bonaventura.
