Frezza is very widespread throughout Italy, especially in the Veneto and Friuli regions, and in Lazio, Abruzzo, Campania and Puglia, it could derive from the medieval name and nickname Frezza, understood as an arrow, probably meaning fast as an arrow or precise like an arrow, but it is also possible a derivation from the name Frezza, an archaic form of the name Federica (see FREZZI).
