FAES

Specific to the area of Trento and its western district, it should derive from place names linked to the presence of a beech forest (faes). We find traces of this surname in an act of the second half of the 1600s in Tyrol with: "... Idem pro eadem ex parte eiusdem de hereditate Engberti Faes genera Laurentii de Baest, III denarios novos ....".
