ITEM

Item, almost unique, has an ancient stock in Switzerland and one in the Neapolitan dialect, it is a surname originating from a wrong transcription, motivated by the low level of knowledge of the registrar, probably a country priest, who, referring to an orphan, had taken the surname from a written document considering the term item, as if it had been the surname of the child; the term item, which means likewise, similarly, was very often used in ancient times in the writings of the acts, as we can see in the Diplomatic Code of Medieval Lombardy in a writing of 1017: "In Christi nomine. Enricus gratia Dei inperator agustus, year iniperios eius Deo propicio quarto, mense agustus, fifth-fifth index Tibi Ambrosio, archipresbiter de basilica Sancte Dei genetricis Marie que est fundata in munte qui nominatur Velate et filius Leoni de vico Propelled envelopes Varexe, nos Albert and Rodolfo seu Gotefredo , Angelbertus filius quondam Totoni, item Angelbertus filius quondam Adelgisi, Rozo et item Adelgiso germanis filoi quondam Bonizoni, Alkerio filius quondam item Adelgisi, tercio Adelgiso filius quondam Arnolfi, item Albericus filius quondam Azoni ...
