Licastro is typical of Delianova in the Reggio area with a secondary stock in Messina and one in Naples, two hypotheses can be made, the first, and most likely, is that it derives from a dialectal modification of the toponym Nicastro in Catanzaro, the second is that it can derive from the Greek archaic word alykàres (worker to the salt marshes) which would be the possible job of the progenitor.
