MORELLATO

Morellati is almost certainly the result of a mistake of transcription of Morellato which is specific to Trevisano, Trevignano and Montebelluna in particular, it also presents a strain in Latina and the province, which took office following the migration from Veneto to reclaim the Pontine Marshes of Fascist era, it derives from the medieval name Morellus with the addition of the Venetian-dialectal suffix (son of) and would indicate the family of the son of a Morellus. (see MORELLI)
