Naddei, the less common of the two, is specific to Naples, Naddeo is typically from Campania, especially from Salerno, Salerno, San Cipriano Picentino, Pontecagnano Faiano, Castiglione dei Genovesi, Giffoni Sei Casali, San Mango Piemonte and San Marzano sul Sarno, with a stock in the Neapolitan dialect in Naples, Pomigliano d'Arco and Ercolano and in Arienzo in the Caserta area, should be apheretic forms, modified by the dialect, of the Italian name Donadeo (see DONADEI) probably brought by the founders.
