NICOSCIA

Nicoscia has a stock in Isola di Capo Rizzuto and Crotone in Crotone and a much smaller one in Scicli in Ragusa, it should derive from the name of the Cypriot city of Nicosia, name of the Greek capital of the island of Cyprus, and the progenitors should have arrived in Italy at the time of the Turkish invasion in 1500, the Sicilian lineage could derive from the name of the Ennian toponym of Nicosia.
