NOLDIN | NOLDINO

Noldin is specific to Trentino, Cles and Campodenno, Noldino is practically unique, it should be a hypocoristic dialectical form or not of the apheresis of names like Arnoldo, Raynoldo or similar, we find traces of this surname in Trentino in Denno in the second half of 1500, when one of the notaries operating in the province of Trento included a certain Bartolomeo Noldin: "... Bartholomaeus filius quondam Ioannis Noldini de Herculo plebis Enni publicus imperiali auctoritate notarius ...".
