Novaga, very very rare, has a small Romagna stock in Forlì, Cesena, Forlimpopoli and Ravenna, and one in Latina, very difficult to identify the etymology, it could derive by Betacism from the Provençal name Nobah, but it is not very probable, it can be taken considering a derivation from an altered form of the Latin term novacula (razor blade, razor, scalpel), hypothesizing then that the progenitor may have been a cerusico (surgeon), as we read in the medical Praxis: "... ut si vase excipiatur ex venâ apertâ, post aliquod tempus ita concrescat, ut vix novaculo scindi possit, si talis sanguis in vasa minima ingrediatur, ulterius progredi not potest, & amissâ parte liquidissimâ easy cum his vase concrescit, quod etiam confirmatur polypus cordis, here nil aliud est, quàm sanguis concretus ... ", but there are no concrete elements to support it.
