Orlandini is typical of Emilia and Tuscany, Orlandino, very rare, is specific to Brindisi, Orlandinotti is unique, they should derive, directly or through a hypocoristic form, from the medieval name Orlandinus of which we have an example in the Diplomatic Code of medieval Lombardy to Cremona in a deed dated 1170: "... Ibi fuerunt Patronus from Pignole and Ricardinus Pistor atque Orlandinus de Caliano, rogates testes.".
