Procopi is probably a form cognominal consequence of errors of registration, Procopius would typically appear Calabrian of Catanzaro, Davoli, Soverato, Borgia and San Sostene always in the Catanzaro, derive from the Latin nomen. Famous were the emperor of East Procopius of the FOURTH century and the historian Procopius of Caesarea in Palestine (~ 500-560), adviser of Belisarius. Sant'Efisio the Holy Martyr killed in Sardinia in 303 took the name from Ephesus his hometown, but his original name was Stratilate Procopio.
