Palitta is typically Sardinian, from Olbia, Trinità d'Aqultu and Vignola in Gallura and from Sassari and Pattada in it, it will be derived from the northern costal paliti (sardine) term, probably I would indicate in it a capercaillie. Integrations provided by Giuseppe Concas PALITTA: palìtta and the palette sardine correspondent. The pallet and its fire = the palette for the fire; the palitto of his mest''e muru = the cazzuola del muratore; its palittoni> to harvest dust, clean it from the houses, etc. We did not use it in the old letters of the language and the history of Sardinia, obviously it is a modern name. Here we find it also the best place in the agro of Gonnosfanadiga (PROV. VS), in the southern slopes of Monte Linas if you find a locality called "Roja de Pobìttas" (red = rivolus of the palisades). Currently the last name Palìtta is found in 34 Italian municipalities, of which 19 in Sardinia: Olbia 46, Sassari 17, Trinità d'Agultu 15, Pattada 14, etc.
