Pantaleo is typical of Puglia, but with an autonomous nucleus also in the Trapani area, Pantaleone, decidedly more rare, has an Abruzzese and Palermitan stock, Pantaleoni is typical of Emilia, Marche, Umbria and Lazio, Pantalone is decidedly Abruzzo, of Francavilla al Mare, Ripa Teatina and Chieti in the Chieti area and Pescara, Pants, much rarer is the Marche, Fabriano and Ancona, deriving from the nickname, the name of Greek origin Pantaleo (all lion, spirited and brave like a lion). We recall the Pantalone mask of the theater of art, originally from Venice, embodies the figure of the old stingy merchant.
