Perruzza is specific to the L'Aquila area, frusinate, Balsorano nell'aquilano and nearby Sora in frusinate, Perruzzi and Perruzzo, almost unique, are still from the Aquila area, they could derive from nicknames originating from the dialect word perruzza (pebble), but not it can be excluded that they may also derive from forms altered by the dialect of apheretic hypocorisms of names such as Gaspare or by contracted dialectal forms of hypocorisms of the name Pietro or the feminine Petra.
