Peruz is specific of the Belluno area, of Calalzo di Cadore in particular, Peruzzi is widespread throughout the centronord, Peruzzini is specific to the province of Pesaro and Ancona, Peruzzo is typically Venetian, all derive from modifications of the name Piero. We find traces of these surnames in 1500 with Count Silvio Peruzzini of Fossombrone and in 1600 with Giacomo Peruzzini, Patrizio of Ancona.
