Typical of Rovigo, it derives from the medieval surname Pizardus of Spanish origin (we remember one of the famous Conquistadores Francisco Pizarro), a surname of which we have an example in the Diplomatic Code of medieval Lombardy where under the year 1144 in a deed of sale a certain Martinus is mentioned Pizardus as a factor of a landed property belonging to the monastery of Morimondo (MI).
