Ranaldi is typically latial, especially of the Roman and Frusinate, with a small strain in the Marche, in Naples and in the Tarentine, Ranaldo has a large strain to ginosa in the Tarentine and one to Paduli in the Beneventano, Ranalli is widespread in Abruzzo and in the Roman, with Strains also in Ascolano, in Reatino, in Frusinate, in Campobassano and in Foggiano, Ranallo, decidedly less common than the previous one, has a strain in the Aquilano and in the Roman, in the Teatino and in the Campobassano, they should all derive, directly or through Dialectal alterations, from the medieval name Ranaldus (see FROG).
