SAVIOZZI

Saviozzi is a typical Tuscan surname, of Pisan and in particular of Cascina, of Pisa, of San Giuliano Terme and of Vecchiano, with strains also in Livorno, it should derive from a nickname like that attributed to the medieval poet Simone Serdini da Siena (~ 1360-1421) Said the Saviozzo, but it is also possible if not even more likely to derive from a hypocoristic form of the medieval name Savius (see Savi).
