Very rare is typical of the area that includes Avellinese, Foggiano, Bari and Potentino, should derive from a dialect of the name Rosario. Integration and hypotheses provided by a visitor who prefers anonymity the surname Scioscia is widespread in Pescopagano in Basilicata where I find the most people with this surname exist.
