Ventresca has a strain in the Aquilano in Bugnara, Sulmona and Introduacqua, some presence in Molise and a stump in Rome, should derive from a dialect nickname of Abruzzo, based on the term Ventresca (lard), perhaps to indicate that the leaders bred pigs and produce a particular lard.
