Vercese is practically unique, Vercesi is specific to the area of Milan and Pavese, with significant appearances also in the Piacenza and Genovese, unlikely a derivation from the name of the locality of Vercesio in Savona or Verceia in the Sondriese, could derive, Through modifications, from the Latin word Quercus (oak) indicating families who lived near Querceti.
