Typical of Salerno and Salernitano. Integrations provided by Fabio Paolucci typical of the hills of Giovi that overlook the city of Salerno: From archival research seems to have formed in medieval times to call in censuses all farmers colonists who occupied the vici of these Places (Nearness would be from neighbors, or inhabitants of the Vici, the villages, the Contrade). Even today, 90% of the inhabitants of the districts Giovesi have the surname neighbourhood; Even a saint, a native of the place, had this surname: Santa Maria de ' Vicinantia. It is still to be added that a toponym of an area of Giovi is Casa closeness (from the surname of the farmhouse that lived there) and a distinguished character in the history of Salerno was Giacinto closeness, valiant fighter of the Second World War. A family of Vicinantia, perhaps another strain now extinct (I have not found links between this strain and that of Giovi) was wealthy in Montecorvino Rovella (Sa).
