Zeba, very rare, is typical of Veronese, it could derive from a dialect contraction of the term Cimbro zaneibe (juniper), but much more likely derive from the Hebrew name Zebah which means sacrificial victim, name that gave rise to the least rare Zebedia: " ... Chanaan, AB Arabico Carcara, deducit, quod terram meanat in qua Tuto, AC placid Vivitur. Proinde Iudic Pro eo, quod in Hebrew est Zeba, et Salmana erat in Carcor, Hieronymus Habet requiescebant... ".
