ZOLI | ZOLO

Zoli has a Romagnolo lineage, which extends into the Bolognese and Florentine areas, particularly concentrated in Forlì, Ravenna and Faenza (RA), and a lineage in the Brescia area of Gardone Val Trompia, ZOlo seems to be specific to Bolotana (NU), may derive from toponyms such as Zola Predosa (BO) the Emilian stock, but much more likely instead derive from an apheretic form of a dialectal variant of the name Angelo (Angiolo, Anzolo, Zolo).
