Subsequently, in the year 1398, a Jäk Kast appeared as captain of the castle of Füssen while in 1648 a Walther Kast resided in Hamburg as a legal scholar. However, it was during the eighteenth century that the family appeared permanently in Wertheim, the city where Johann Georg Carl was born.
