Tradition has it that the Sozzi family of Bergamo is a branch of the Capitani family, banned by the Duchy of Milan. Settled in the Bergamo area, she purchased many goods and the Castle of Calusco; other properties in Gorlago and finally in Caprino Bergamasco. In Bergamo it had a splendid palace on the San Giovanni hill, with two towers, which belonged to the fortress called Firma fides by Bernabò Visconti and with a loggia with arches between them which looks out at noon over the bastions of Santa Grata. Now it is part of the Episcopal Seminary. From the San Giovanni hill, the Sozzi family moved, at the beginning of the last century, to a building near the Morla bridge, then Riccardi and now Beretta; and from this to the Tassis building in via Pignolo, now Perico Baldini. In the Council of Bergamo are registered with the surname Sozzi: ...
