The family originates from Viterbo and is attributed to it as the progenitor of a Francesco, Andrea, Giacomo "alias Zelo" who lived in 1424. Giacomo, of Francesco, was prior of Viterbo in 1489 and had two children who gave birth to two branches. The first became extinct at the end of the sixteenth century, while the second with Pier Felice was reinstated in the nobility of Viterbo in 1749 and divided into the families: Pazzaglia and Jacobuzzi. The first ended in Giuseppina, by Giulio in the mid-nineteenth century. The Jacobuzzi family is generically listed on the Italian Noble Official List of 1922 with the title of Viterbo nobleman (mf.).
