PLATTI | PLATTO

Platti has a lineage in the Lecco area of Pasturo, and a lineage in the Viterbo area of Capranica, Platto is typical of the Brescia area, Castrezzato, Castelcovati, Brescia and Chiari, should derive from a nickname originated from the Latin term plattus (flat) or even from a form altered derived from the Latin word Plautus, a principle of this surname we find in Milan in a Carta venditionis of the year 1184: "... Et inde estiterunt fideiussores omni tempore, ita ut quisque insolidum possit conveniri, Guilielmus qui dicitur de la Porta et Rogerius Tinctor et Burrus qui dicitur Plattus atque Ambroxius here dicitur de Bollate, de suprascripta civitate ... ", we find other traces of these surnames in the first half of the 1700s in the Sondriese area of Fusine, where the notary Matteo Plattus worked, Giovanni, in the second half of the 1700s in Caprino Bergamasco we find, as commissioner of the San Martino Valley, a certain Venantius Plattus.
