Disregarding the fabulous legends that they would like originally from France, this conspicuous lineage passed to Friuli before the year one thousand (Pietro Ruffo: De origne Noricorum; Capodagli: Udine illustrated, p. 114), and following only authentic documents, we will say that the oldest duo I remember a deed dated 30 November 1218, in which Mequardus de Sbrojavacca was appointed arbitrator with other feudal lords in a question of boundaries between the patriarch of Aquileia and Milites Waldi (Bianchi, doc. mssi N. 51 bibl. civ. Udine). There is no doubt that the surname of Scodovacca is to be identified with that of Sbrogliavacca, as with it we find at the rear another member of the family, Ulvinus De Scodovacha, whom we know as nephew and former monk of the first (in act dated from Sesto, 27 July 1226).
