We cannot say whether there is any relationship between this family and the one which produced: Dom Jean-Baptiste, Benedictine of St-Maur, prior of the royal abbey of Issoire, deputy of the clergy at the assemblies of the election of 'Auvergne. By consulting old documents we can say, without the risk of going too far, that this family represents one of the oldest and most honorable of several French regions. It is found at different times, in various localities especially in Champagne and Burgundy making up the department of Aube. It is certain however that formerly, in the succession of historical facts of small or large scale, the original strain could give rise to many flowering branches in various French regions.
