Antiga e ilustre família Ancona, cujas origens remontam ao século IX, precisamente no condado de Ferrette ou Pfirt, na Alsácia. Essa tradição teve origens comuns com os Habsburgos e a descendência da nobre linhagem dos Agilofingi é atribuída a Antonio Ferretti que, por volta de 1225, veio para a Itália, estabeleceu sua sede na planície de Ronchi em Chiaravalle e Falconara Marittima, naquele de Ancona, e começou o povo Ferratta. As crônicas sobre as origens nos dizem que Teobaldo, irmão de Ottoperto de Habsburgo, foi o primeiro conde de Ferretto que viveu no século VIII.
