Nobility crown MasciaAncient and very noble family of the Kingdom of Naples, of clear and ancestral virtue, spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy. It was created noble in the sixteenth century, specifically with a diploma dated December 9, 1586 of King Philip II of Spain, given to Giovan Leonardo Mascia. In 1847 and 1853 this family was then admitted to the Royal Bodyguards and recognized as generous nobility by the Royal Commission of Nobility Titles of the Two Sicilies (1834-1860). It also owned numerous lands and very valuable noble palaces, including Palazzo Mascia in Montefusco and Palazzo Mascia in San Severo. The clear nobility of this family is also testified by its presence in the fundamental heraldic work "The historical-blasonic dictionary of extinct and flourishing Italian noble and notable families", by the historian, genealogist and heraldist Giovan Battista di Crollalanza (Fermo, May 19, 1819 - Pisa, March 8, 1892). ...
