Antica ed assai nobile famiglia originaria di Capodistria, ove risulta presente sin dal XIV secolo, passata a risiedere in Vincenza agli albori del secolo decimo sesto, trovandosi aggregata a quel nobile Consiglio nel 1510 e con sepoltura in Santa Corona, come risulta dalla pregevole opera "Il blasone vicentino descritto ed illustrato" di Sebastiano Rumor. L'origine di tal cognominizzazione va ricercata nel personale "Giovanni", anticamente "Zuanne". Un ramo di questa stessa famiglia è poi passato a risiedere in Lombardia, più precisamente nella città di Bergamo, ove però venne trascritto come Zanoni. L'arma dei Zanon risulta purtroppo ignota ed è per tal motivo che riportiamo quella del ramo bergamasco, descritta dal Crollalanza nel suo "Dizionario storico blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane estinte e fiorenti".
