BRENTAZZOLI | BRINTAZZOLI

Extremely rare Brentazzoli, also very rare Brintazzoli, are typical of Bologna, derived from a nickname originated from the archaic dialectal word brintazzo (wooden container for transporting wine), perhaps to indicate the profession of the progenitor's winemaker. additions provided by Angela Bonora following historical research relating to the province of Bologna I discovered that in the Middle Ages XII century the area of Brento already existed in the Bologna area near Pianoro. It was a wine area, and with the term brentatori the transporters of grapes were called in baskets (brenti) or other containers on the shoulder. Brintazzoli is a surname of my family (Bolognese) and some members carried the surname Brentazzoli alternately.
