Brugnano, in addition to the stock in Reggio nell'Emilia, is typical of the Calabrian and Palermo area, of Cutro in particular in Crotone, of Locri in the Reggio area and of Partinico in the Palermo area, it should derive from locality names originated from medieval land holdings called ager apronianum, that is Apronius farm.
