Musacchi is typical of the Ferrara area of Argenta and of Ferrara itself, Musacco is specific to Trani and Cerignola in the Bari area, they should derive from the medieval name / nickname Musaccus of which we have an example in Pisa in the act in which the Pisans swore to keep the alliance made with Siena, Pistoia and Poggibonsi, where a certain Ranerius Musaccus appears, traces of these surnames can be found in Conversano (BA) in a 1709: "Acta pro reverendo canon don Giacomo Musacco contra reverendum don Roccum Susca".
