NAPELLI | NAPELLO

Napelli and Napello are absolutely rare, the first could be Emilian, the second would seem to be from the Genoese, they could derive from a nickname originated from the homonymous plant (aconitum napellus) probably linked to a particularly poisonous character, traces of these surnames are found in Genoa in 1142 in a writing we read that the abbot of Santa Maria and Santa Croce of Tiglieto (GE) drove the religious Antonio Napello from the monastery for reasons not entirely clear.
