PATACCA

Rare, has three nuclei, one in Umbria, one in Teramo and one in the province of Rome, the surname derives from the term patacca which indicated the soldier's money in the Renaissance (a Patacca = five Pugs), and therefore used as a nickname to indicate or the man-at-arms trade or a mercenary character., another hypothesis is that it derives from the dialectal word patacca (rough man) used as a nickname.
