Pelisseri, absolutely rare, is typically Piedmontese, as is the much more widespread Pelissero, which is well present in Turin, Susa, Meana di Susa, Bussoleno and Arignano in Turin and Fossano, Neive and Cuneo in the Cuneo area, Pelissetti, always Piedmontese, it is specific of the Asti area, of Villafranca d'Asti in particular, Pelissetto is extremely rare, of the Asti, Alessandria area, Pellissetto is unique, like Pellisser, certainly unique, which is perhaps Ligurian, Pellisseri is unique, Pellissero is almost unique, they are both from the Cuneo area, all these surnames should derive from a nickname originating from the Piedmontese term archaic peliscèe or pelliscèe (furrier), probably thus indicating the profession carried out by the progenitors, or their belonging to the congregation which included those who worked the skins or leather in various necessary operations.
