Pelleriti is typical of eastern Sicily, of Messina, Patti, Montalbano Elicona, Basicò and Tripi in the Messina area, and of Catania, it should be a Greek Grecanic form to indicate who came from the village of Pellaro in the Reggio area, the probable place of origin of the founders.
