Pizzolitto is typical of San Michele al Tagliamento in the Venetian border with the Udine area, with some presence also in Concordia Sagittaria and Portogruaro still in the Venetian neighborhood and in the Udine area of Latisana and Ronchis, and in San Vito al Tagliamento in the Pordenone area, it should derive from a dialectal nickname with the meaning of little one, probably to underline the small build of the progenitor.
